CAPEL MANOR GARDENS AND MYDDLETON HOUSE GARDENS – places on the trip still available

Capel Manor Gardens is a 30-acre estate surrounding a Georgian Manor House and Victorian Stables with richly planted themed gardens including Historical Gardens, Italianate Maze, Japanese Garden, Kim Wilde’s Jungle Gym Garden and many others. Further details are available here

A visit to the nearby Myddleton House Gardens will also be included in the trip. The famous gardener and botanist E A Bowles lived in Myddelton House from 1865 to 1954 and dedicated much of his life to transforming the gardens with his love of unusual and exotic plants. Boasting an impressive range of flora and fauna there’s something to stimulate the senses each season, from colourful spring crocuses to dazzling summer irises. The trip will include a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, set in 22 acres near Tenterden in Kent with a chance to taste some of the high quality English wines produced there.

Falconhurst, near Edenbridge in Kent, is a 4 acre garden with fabulous views devised and cared for by the same family for 160 years. Deep mixed borders with old roses, peonies, shrubs and a wide variety of herbaceous and annual plants; ruin garden; walled garden; interesting mature trees and shrubs; kitchen garden; wildflower meadows with woodland and pond walks. Woodland pigs; orchard chickens; lambs in the paddocks.

Probably the most beautiful rose garden in the world. Over 700 different varieties of roses are planted in two acres, divided into smaller areas each with its own style including the Long Garden, the Victorian walled Garden and the Renaissance Garden. Find out more here
